Eye-Catching
Websites
By James Combs
Kevin
Robson realizes how the Internet has opened up tremendous opportunities
and endless possibilities for businesses. Since opening his web hosting
and design firm, BusinessMasters.Net, in 1995, he has helped create
web sites for more than 100 companies throughout the United States and
far away as Australia.
These web sites
represent a company’s identity on the Internet, and the impression
it conveys holds the visitor’s attention and makes them come back
time and time again. Therefore, Kevin prides himself in creating sites
that are precise, visually captivating and conceptually sound. That’s
why BusinessMasters.Net has earned quite a reputation among its many
clients, which range from hotels, chambers of commerce, restaurants
and travel agencies.
“Most
of the web designs we do are geared toward marketing and advertising,
although some for customer support, membership management systems and
employee education,” Kevin said. “The best part about the
job is meeting people in a wide variety of fields. I love learning about
their businesses. A few weeks ago I visited a client in Miami and had
an opportunity to ride on a tugboat and barge. Then I visited another
client later that day and found myself riding in a helicopter. Learning
how a business ticks is cool stuff to me.”
As a testament
to his hard work and professionalism, Kevin has received numerous accolades
throughout the years, including the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce
Business Person of the Month in 1995 and the 1999 Sam Walton Business
Leader Award. But his proudest
accomplishment
as a professional occurred in March 2005. That’s when he learned
that Time Magazine chose one of his company’s websites, Mrsfixit.com,
as its Web Site of Choice. The site has also been recognized in numerous
other magazines, including Woman’s Day.
“It’s
quite an honor that a nationally known magazine like Time would recognize
our work,” Kevin said. “I was ecstatic when I found out
about it.”
“Mrs.
Fixit” is actually Terri McGraw of Syracuse, N.Y. who has a syndicated
column and makes regular television appearances giving women tips about
do-it-yourself home repairs. BusinessMasters.Net created her site with
an online shopping store, a comprehensive question and answer section
and sample videos that show her doing repairs. There’s also a
FIXIT quick find, where users can click on a particularly category,
such as “holiday ideas” or “kitchen tips,” and
instantly learn about Terri’s recommendations.
“There
are not too many businesses these days that I feel are into customer
satisfaction and actually follow through,” Terri said. “Many
businesses have a tendency to over promise and under deliver. I can’t
say that for BusinessMasters.Net. They have been a pleasure and terrific
to work with. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty and have
never let me down.”
BusinessMasters.Net
has offices in Grand Island and Merritt Island. The company prides itself
on building outstanding websites that are easy to navigate, load fast
and accomplish what the client has in mind. For more information, call
